How to Care for Hearing Aids
The vast majority of malfunctioning hearing instruments we see in our clinic are caused by a buildup of wax, dirt and/ or moisture. If your hearing aid sounds weak or uses too many batteries, you may have some form of debris in one of the sound ports. There are several things you can do on a daily basis to cut down on the frequency of hearing aid repairs.

After removing your hearing aid, wipe it with a dry soft cloth – removing wax and moisture.

Check the sound ports (mic and speaker). If dirty, use the small brush to lightly wipe the area clean.

Also check the vent hole. This hole goes completely through the hearing instrument to allow air into
the ear. If it looks clogged, use the wire loop (at the other end of the brush) to remove it.

When not in use, open the battery doors.
