Digital Hearing Instrument Advances

Digital hearing technology has changed the way we communicate with the world around us. Now, with the integration of Bluetooth® Digital Hearing Aid, Bluetoothtechnology you are freer than ever to use a variety of popular wireless hearing devices and hear clearly.

Using your Epoq digital hearing aid and Oticon's Epoq Streamer, you can wirelessly connect to your Bluetooth® enabled device like a cell phone, PC, MP3 music player and hear great quality sound in both ears. Devices can be connected as far away as 30 meters!

Think of it as a tiny cordless headset.
You'll be able to answer your cellphone without touching it and hear the speaker's voice in both ears. You can listen to your iPod or your PC through your hearing aids in stereo.

How does it work?
A pair of Epoq wireless hearing aids operate together as an integrated hearing system. The right aid is talking to the left, and the left one back to the right. They exchange vast amounts of information, and this preserves vital auditory cues.

Epoq's directional and noise management system helps you hear better in noisy situations. Sounds are more comforting and realistic. Epoq wireless digital hearing aid

Why? When the auditory system in the brain receives certain signals that are synchronized, speech perception and clarity improves, particularly in a noisy setting. The effect provides the central auditory system a paired set of inputs that more accurately reflects the actual difference between the two ears.

In July of this year, California law says it is against the law to use a cell phone in the car unless it is “hands free”. Digital hearing aids with wireless technology will help you be in compliance with the law and safer to boot.

The ABCs of Digital Technology

True digital processing in hearing aids has only been available in the U. S. since January 1996. Until 1998, the only "100% digital" processing aids were the Oticon Digifocus and the Widex Senso. Since then all manufacturers have come on line with their own digital products. Read more here.
